PKUAA-DFW Introduction

达拉斯北京大学校友会创建于2002年，是非政治性、非盈利性的团体组织，由达拉斯地区的北大校友组成。北大校友系指曾经在北京大学和原北京医科大学学习及工作过的师生员工。校友会的宗旨是通过各种形式的活动，增强北大校友间的相互了解，信任，帮助与合作，弘扬北大“科学与民主”的优良传统，促进在美国的北大校友与母校之间在文化，学术，科技，及商业信息等方面的交流。达拉斯校友会的工作主要包括每年举办两次活动，一次在5月4日左右，另一次在圣诞节期间，同时也与本地其他华人社团进行联谊。达拉斯北大校友会曾为各种北大代表团提供接待工作，包括2002年北大副校长林建华、2005年北大继续教育部部长郑学义教授来达拉斯访问。

Dallas PKUAA was formed in 2002. By 2011, there are about 140 active alumni members in the group. Dallas is the 9th biggest city in the US, with great focus on industries such as Oil & Gas, Telecommunication, High Tech, Retail etc. The Big Dallas metro area also covers Fort-Worth, with total population of 3 million people. Major routine events of Dallas PKUAA are two annual reunion parties for all alumni: one is around May 4th and the other party is during Christmas holiday. Other events include partnership with local Chinese community group for community and professional developments. Dallas PKUAA has hosted various welcome receptions for various PKU delegation teams here in Dallas, including Professor Lin, JianHua, VP of PKU, at 2002 and Professor Zheng, Xueyi, Director of Continue Education, at 2005. Our future plan for Dallas PKUAA is to foster more professional events and community activities here in the great Dallas-Fort Worth area. We plan to invite various worldwide academic leaders to our local community for presentations; build stronger relationship with Peking University and other alumni association in the United States and promote international commerce between Dallas and China.
